Day 4 |
|
Louisville to Moline, IL |

The theme for today was rain and storms. They started early in the morning in Louisville and continued on and off for the entire day. Today I learned that motorcycles can be ridden in storm conditions and once you get used to the constant buffeting is not so bad. The real problem was passing the trucks because the winds were unpredictable and the trucks throw off a lot of water. The turbulence starts when you get about 50 yards behind them, increases as you get closer and to the side, and ends abruptly when you pass. Makes for lots of excitement and definitely keeps you awake. |

Today was the second longest ride at 430 miles. Not so much if you're traveling by car, but believe me you feel every mile on a bike. |

Below is the only picture I had time to take. It doesn't really document the actual conditions very effectively. |
