This was a great day for me as a motorcycle and history enthusiast. Visiting Monticello is something I have wanted to do for years, as is a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Neither experienced was a disappointment. |

Thomas Jefferson was an incredibly productive Renaissance Man. There is nothing to say about him that hasnt already been written although it is not commonly known that, in addition to his many other talents, he also played the violin.

Jeffersons first child was actually born in this house where he and his wife lived before Monticello was finished. Unfortunately this was their only child that survived out of six and his wife died during the birth of the last. |
Jefferson learned to love ice cream while in France. Upon his return he had this ice house built so that he could use the vanilla beans he brought back with him. |

What a great ride! A motorcyclists's dream, with winding roads cresting the Blue Ridge. You have panoramic views on either side at times. Sorry the pictures aren't better. It was a bit hazy when they were taken. |
