Almost panicked when we woke up at 5:30am and the sun had already risen. As we left Furnace Creek a small coyote crossed our path. He seemed to be in a hurry to find a place to pass the day out of the heat. We made one stop along the way Zabriski Point. There were beautiful moonscape views from here.
To the left is Zabriskie Point. To the right is Zabriskie, whose notoriety
stems from his success as a manager for the Borax Mining Company. Go figure...

From this to............. this!!
As we rode to Vegas the temperature fell to a comfortable 84 degrees. There is a beautiful area called Red Rock just before you get to Las Vegas.
We found our way to the Bellagio around 11:00 and immediately wished we were back in the desert. We were able to check in early and Val spent some time by the pool while Chris participated in a Berklee Conference call.
